Historical Resolution Data
Is POSB part of DBS Bank, and does this affect statement processing?
Yes. POSB (Post Office Savings Bank) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of DBS Bank and shares the same iBanking and digibank app infrastructure. POSB statements follow a nearly identical PDF format to DBS statements, with the POSB brand name on the header. StatementConverter handles both POSB and DBS statement formats using the same extraction engine — the POSB name on the PDF header does not affect conversion accuracy.
Is the POSB statement password-protected?
No. POSB eStatements downloaded via POSB iBanking or the DBS/POSB digibank app are not encrypted with a file-level password. Authentication happens at the portal login stage. Once downloaded, you can upload the POSB PDF directly to StatementConverter and begin conversion immediately without entering any password.
Can I use a converted POSB statement for IRAS tax filing?
Yes. The structured Excel output from StatementConverter includes the full transaction date, description, debit, credit, and running balance from your POSB statement — the information format used by Singapore tax agents and IRAS examiners to substantiate income and business expenses on income tax and GST returns.
Does it support the POSB Everyday Savings Account statement format?
Yes. POSB Everyday Savings Account and POSB Passbook Savings Account digital statements follow the standard DBS-POSB PDF layout. StatementConverter accurately extracts all transaction rows including GIRO deductions, FAST transfers, PayNow receipts, and ATM withdrawals, preserving reference codes and narrations in the Excel output.
Does StatementConverter handle PayNow transaction descriptions in POSB statements?
Yes. PayNow transfers in POSB statements appear with the sender or recipient name and PayNow reference code in the transaction description. StatementConverter preserves the full PayNow narration — including the counterparty's registered name and mobile or NRIC reference — in a single Excel cell using the Smart Cleave algorithm, preventing split-line PayNow entries from appearing as separate phantom rows.
Is the conversion PDPA-compliant for POSB account data?
Yes. Your POSB statement PDF is processed entirely within your browser — it is never uploaded to StatementConverter's servers or any third-party infrastructure. This local-only processing approach satisfies Singapore's PDPA by ensuring your account numbers, transaction history, and personal financial information remain exclusively on your device throughout conversion.
