N26 offers native CSV export — why would I use StatementConverter for N26?
N26 does offer CSV transaction export, but StatementConverter is useful in several specific scenarios: (1) multi-bank consolidation — combining N26 data with statements from other European banks (Deutsche Bank, ING, BNP) into a single consistently-formatted workbook; (2) historical PDF statements from periods before CSV export was available; (3) sharing a professional, consistently-formatted statement with an accountant, auditor, or lender who expects a structured spreadsheet rather than a raw CSV file.
Is the N26 statement password-protected?
No. N26 monthly account statements downloaded via the N26 web app or mobile app are not encrypted with a file-level password. Authentication occurs at the app or portal login stage. Once the PDF is downloaded, you can upload it directly to StatementConverter and begin extraction without entering any password.
Can I use the Excel output for European tax filings as an N26 customer?
Yes. N26 is a licensed EU bank (German banking licence, MAS Singapore licence) with customers across 24+ countries. The structured Excel output from StatementConverter is accepted by tax advisors and accountants in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, and other EU countries for income tax and VAT return preparation — the output format is consistent regardless of the customer's country of residence.
Does StatementConverter handle multi-currency N26 statements?
Yes. N26 Metal and N26 You accounts support multi-currency cashback on foreign transactions, and N26 statements include the original foreign currency amount alongside the EUR equivalent. StatementConverter preserves both currency values in the Excel output, making it accurate for foreign income reporting and currency reconciliation.
Does it handle Spaces sub-account entries in N26 statements?
Yes. N26 Spaces transfers appear as standard internal debit and credit rows in N26 statements with the Spaces reference name in the transaction description. StatementConverter preserves the full Spaces narration in the Excel output, allowing you to identify and filter Spaces-related entries alongside regular banking transactions.
Is the conversion GDPR-compliant for N26 data?
Yes. Your N26 statement PDF is processed entirely within your browser — it is never uploaded to StatementConverter's servers or any external infrastructure. This local-only processing model satisfies GDPR's core requirements for personal data protection, ensuring your N26 transaction history, IBAN references, and account information remain exclusively on your own device.
